I think it’s time for an intervention. I’m working on three weeks with little to no motivation, and even now, I’m wasting a blog post talking about my writer’s block instead of working on my books.
Usually, lists help, but even now they aren’t doing it for me. For the past week, I have had this list by my computer to prompt me for writing.
Writing Projects
- The Savrith Tree
- Principles of Eating Green
- Eco-Wellness for Blog
- Conservation Fitness 30 Day Challenge
- Articles for Submission
- Why Zoos Matter
- The Cynics Guide to the Pacific Northwest
- Fitness, Nutrition, and Conservation articles for magazines and guest blogging
- Queries and Book Proposals
Okay, granted, I worked on the Savrith Tree the other day and finished a beautiful poem that I’m super proud of (poetry is HARD). But everything else? C’mon, it’s not like I don’t have the information. Just freaking write!
I think I need another 30 day writing challenge. I’m pretty sure I need a writing challenge.
Which would you prefer as readers? 30 Days of Eating Green or 30 Days of Eco-Wellness? Both are going to be ultimately challenging for me. But it sure beats not writing.
This is also a call for help. A few days ago, I literally stopped writing mid-sentence because I hit my minimum word count. I haven’t gone to writing groups, but things are still a little crazy with Chris’ doctor appointments and commitments I have for myself.
I thought after finishing my first book, I’d be moved to start writing again. I finished my second book, only after brushing it off and brushing it off and realizing I had to finish it pronto or risk not taking it to AAZK with me. But the muse is alluding me now.
What are ways you have staved off the dreaded plateau, aka Writers Block? Hit me up in the comments and help a desperate sister out.
I think the Eco-Wellness challenge would be great, maybe use it to help get over the lack of motivation you have currently. Not just writing it but practicing wellness for you mind to improve motivation.
